Feedback from His Field’s participants
With the availability of His Field Education Grant, I took a course that equipped me with theological insights, pastoral skill, and a better level of English.
First, it leads me to live a purposeful and balanced life. Second, pastoral skill enables me a more influential leader for the community that I serve in Vietnam. Third, better English helps me connecting better with different sectors of the community; and it also becomes a tool for me to earn a living. In addition, I am benefitted from serving the people from foreign countries.
I will continue using what I’ve learnt to cultivate the people in my community so that they are more willing to live a purpose-driven life.
The spread of COVID from 2020 to 2022 impacted our family as we took additional precautions and changed our habits to prevent the virus from spreading. We avoided close contact with others, wore masks in public, practised social distancing and added our own covid prevention rules when gathering with family and friends. Furthermore, we made sure to get a COVID vaccine when it became available to better protect ourselves, our families and our neighbours.
However, we faced an income shortage, which could mean a reduction in essential budgets. In those time of uncertainty, it was difficult for us, especially we have two young children to take care of.
In October 2021, we got a cash allowance from His Field. It allowed my family to be able to cover short-term expenses, like food and other necessities, that might otherwise be very difficult to meet during those time of instability. In addition, it provided some financial stability and helped us to avoid taking up high interest loan.
