Founding History

During the 1970s and the 1980s, a massive group of Vietnamese fled war in search of safety cross borders, and some found shelter in the refugee camps in Hong Kong. During their stay in Hong Kong, a group of evangelical Christians welcomed them with the love of God and shared gospel with them.  And some of the refugees received the gospel with amazing grace.

 

After a temporary stay, the refugees were ordered by the government to be sent back to their home country. As the believers returned to Vietnam, despite the immensely challenging religious environment, the Vietnamese refugees who first heard and believed the message in Hong Kong stood firm in the faith and supported one another through the deeply troubling time. With the love of Jesus, they were strengthened and even set up local churches in their communities. They also reached out and spread the love of Jesus to their neighbouring friends and acquaintances.

 

As time gone by, a missionary from Hong Kong heard about the stories of the believers in Vietnam and their challenges and how the grace of God bestowed on them, the missionary was moved by the Holy Spirit and decided to visit Vietnam and to live among them in the Northern part of the country. The missionary took root in their local environment, learnt their language and culture, went about to feel what they feel, to see what they see, treading upon their cities and their villages, paying visit to the young and old alike, to spread among them the fragrance of the love of Jesus.

 

With a decade of effort, with much toil and sweat the missionary carried along the love of Jesus to the places her foot has trodden across various parts of the country. The missionary also carried the vision she beheld, the dialogues she heard, the stirring Vietnamese sensations back to Hong Kong and shared them with local churches. With the blessing of God, increasingly more and more believers in Hong Kong responded to the vision and together a group of evangelical Christians formed His Field Foundation, a registered charity in Hong Kong in 2021, dedicated to carry on the work of spreading Jesus’ love. The group of Christians hope to join hands with more fellow workers in days ahead, and together to labour in His Field, a vast and beautiful field ready with plenty of harvest!
